SSINKspiration Masculine Monday: Truly Tailored

Good morning!  With so many guys in my house masculine items tend to rule so I am happy to join the SSINKspiration designers for another addition of Masculine Monday, because we all need those "dude" cards.  My card today uses the True Gentleman Product Suite to make this quick and easy card.

I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added two different pieces of the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper (retiring) and cut one at an angle for a fun effect.  I used a piece of the Night of Navy 3/8" Corduroy Ribbon (retiring) to cover where the two DSPs meet.

For the greeting I used the Truly Tailed stamp set (retiring) and coordinating Tailored Tag Punch (which is carrying over, yeah).  I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and then attached the greeting with dimensionals.  To finish off the card I added one of the True Gentleman Buttons and tied a double bow using some Dapper Denim Baker's Twine (retiring).   Now you know I don't like to mix White and Vanilla together so I used a sponge and Soft Suede ink to ink up the baker's twin and "dirty" it up so it wasn't bright white.

This card is full of colors and textures which are perfect for the guys in your life and I love the cute little glasses image on both the stamp and DSP.  Remember Father's Day will be here soon so make sure you're ahead of the game with this great product suite while it lasts!

Retiring Products Blog Hop: Sweet Cupcake

Good evening!  It's finally starting to feel like spring around here and between baseball and this mornings race I was able to spend lots of time enjoying the arrival of spring.  Another thing that comes with spring is saying goodbye to some of our favorite Stampin' Up! products in the current catalog so we can make way for some new and fresh items.  Tonight I've joined with a group of demonstrators from across the globe to say goodbye to some of our favorites to provide inspiration and ensure that you take advantage of this time to get these beauties before they retire for good.

For my card I'm using the Sweet Cupcake stamp set and coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits, along with Peekaboo Peach, one of our retiring 2016-2018 In Colors.  I used Peekaboo Peach cardstock for the cardbase and then added a layer of Basic Black cardstock as a mat for the Whisper White cardfront.  Next I mixed some of the White Shimmery Embossing Paste (love the sparkle in this!) and Smoky Slate reinker (just one drop) and then used the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Palette Knives to spread the embossing paste on the right side of the cardfront (I had some extra colored embossing paste leftover so I made 3 more cardfronts, ready to finish, so I didn't waste any of the embossing paste).  The greeting is stamped in the top left corner using Basic Gray, Peekaboo Peach, and Pumpkin Pie ink.  To finish off the cardfront I added a strip of designer series paper from the Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring) that was matted with Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

For the cupcake I stamped the base using different shades of gray and black and then used Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie ink for the frosting (to add a little sparkle I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the dark frosting swirls).  Then I used the Big Shot and Cupcake Cutouts Framelits to cut the pieces out and then used dimensionals to attach the frosting so it's raised from the cupcake base.

Given my well known love of cupcakes it's no surprise this is one of my favorite retiring items and one I may not being giving up right away, I see lots of more calorie free cupcakes being created in my future!

SSINKspiration Animal Frenzy: This Little Pig

Good morning! I don't know about you but animals certainly add a little something special to our lives, I know our little Mocha does.  Today the SSINKspiration decided to have a little animal fun and make cards inspired by these little guys.  Now I don't have any dog stamps but when I was a kid my brother raised pigs so I decided to use the This Little Piggy stamp set for a whimsical card to provide a little needed inspiration and support.

I started with Melon Mambo cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Dapper Denim DSP from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring).  Next I used the Starburst Punch to punch a circle out of Smoky Slate cardstock and then embossed it with the Big Shot and Petal Pair Textured Embossing Folders.

For the main stamped image I stamped my flying piggy on Shimmery White cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her in using Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen (for the toes and nose) and Pink Pirouette (retiring) and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Markers, along with the Color Lifter.  I went over the image several times to get the desired look.  I used Soft Sky to stamp the clouds on the cardstock before matting it with Dapper Denim cardstock.

For the ribbon element I used the Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon (retiring) and colored it using the Pink Pirouette Dark Blends Marker.  To finish off the greeting I stamped the "...so she did" using Dapper Denim ink on Melon Mambo cardstock and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and attached it to the cardfront with mini dimensionals.
This is such a fun and cute card I really like how it turned out!  And who doesn't love a little coloring therapy?

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge IC 288: Basket of Wishes

Good morning!  I love all types of challenges to stretch my creativity and today Hand Stamped Sentiments blog has an Inspiration Challenge that provides lots of ideas for you to create based on.  When I saw the images in the inspiration challenge I noticed all the flowers as well as the wooden create to I decided to focus on those elements for this simple card that only has one stamped image.

I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock for the mat to the Whisper White cardfront.  The greeting is from the Basket of Wishes stamp set (retiring) and was stamped in Early Espresso ink.

For the wooden crate I used the Big Shot and Wood Crate Framelits as well as the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and then just trimmed the crate piece down since I didn't need the tabs to make it 3D.

Aren't these flowers pretty?  I love them and all I did was take the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (retiring) and fussy cute one of the flower sprays using my Paper Snips (it did take a little patience, perfect to do in if your watching a show and relaxing).  I also cut a couple partial images and tucked them inside the crate to make the flowers a little fuller.  I also didn't fully attach all the flower image so pieces lifted off the card for dimension like a real basket of flowers would do.  The final touch was to tie a double bow using Flirty Flamingo Baker's Twine (retiring).

Now it's time to check out the other design teams cards for inspiration (they are awesome) and then it's your turn to take a spin at this challenge, there are so many directions to go with this inspiration challenge I can't wait to see what you create!
